Al-Madrasa for Art was founded in 2005. The school aims to create the conditions for artists and art students in the Kingdom of Bahrain to learn about art from around the world. We realize these goals through teaching and group learning combined with constant participation with the family and society. Frequently Asked Questions
Are the IGCSE and AS/A-level qualifications that Al-Madrasa for Art offers the same as the ones in the UK and in international schools in Bahrain and elsewhere? Yes. Students obtain official certificates after passing the exams and they are accepted by schools and employers all over the world.
How do Al-Madrasa for Art students perform compared to the international averages? Our students obtain grades comparable to the international averages and in many cases they obtain A grades.
What if I want to learn art without the pressure of an exam? Students are welcome to take the IGCSE and AS/A-level curricula without sitting the exam. They will attend the regular classes, and they interact with the faculty and the other students in exactly the same way as the students sitting for the exam. We also offer short, intensive courses in the summer in a variety of media without an official examination. Al-Madrasa for Art is also flexible and can work with you to create a customized course that suits your needs, including one-on-one tuition.
Do students have the opportunity to exhibit their art? Every year, we have a Student Exhibition at the end of the academic year. The exhibition is co-organized by the students, giving them unique and valuable experience in artistic curation. It is open to the public and is regularly featured in local media outlets.
What is the faculty’s background? The faculty are professional artists who have exhibited internationally and have obtained formal art qualifications from the UK.
